Dalam Rangka persiapan pendaftaran Yudisium Mahasiswa (i) ke LXXIV 2016/2017, maka dengan ini kami selaku panitia pelaksana Yudisium bulanan memberitahukan bahwa akan dilakukan peniadaan pendaftaran Yudisium Mahasiswa (i) ke LXXIV 2016/2017 dalam jangka waktu November 2016 - Januari 2017. Hal ini berkaitan dengan adanya surat pendukung laporan dari masing-masing prodi dari perwakilan 7 fakultas menyatakan tidak siap untuk melaksanakan Yudisium dikarenakan beberapa hal seperti kurangnya jumlah bakal calon pendaftar ataupun minimnya jadwal pelaksanaan ujian skripsi yang bergulir pada bulan yang telah di sebutkan diatas. Maka dengan kesepakatan yang telah disetujui dari berbagai pihak pelaksana, perwakilan prodi maka pelaksanaan Yudisium Mahasiswa (i) ke LXXIV 2016/2017 resmi di tunda. Kegiatan pendaftaran Yudisium Mahasiswa (i) ke LXXIV 2016/2017 akan kembali dibuka pada jadwal pergelaran diantara bulan Februari - Maret 2017.<br />

undergone some very unfortunate turbulence recently. It used to be put in the <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">species</span></acronym> <i>Hesperia comma</i>,
and its subspecifixc name used to be <i>yosemite</i>. The name <i>harpalus</i>
was used for the East slope <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">subspecies</span></acronym>, which is very
different. (Got that?) As now construed, <i>harpalus</i> refers to the
single-brooded entity with a very lightly-marked, mostly golden <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">ventral</span></acronym> <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">hindwing</span></acronym> in the male and a
highly variable spot-pattern on the same wing in the female, incorporating a
c-shaped element on the basal half. It occurs on non-<acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">serpentine</span></acronym> substrates, in dry
meadows and along wood roads, visiting Pink Dogbane, Coyotemint, <i>Eriogonum
nudum</i>, and other flowers. It flies in June and July, after <i>H. lindseyi</i>
where they co-occur or come close, and as late as September at Donner. <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">Hilltopping</span></acronym> males are taken on
Castle Peak. The West and East slope subspecies not only look very different;
they have strong molecular-genetic differences and are only known to intergrade
in the Feather River Canyon, north of our area. Larvae feed on <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">perennial</span></acronym> grasses. Oddly, the
only host definitely identified at one of our sites is a naturalized exotic,
Sweet Vernal Grass (<i>Anthoxanthum odoratum</i>).</span></div>

very unfortunate since there is a skipper "really-named" <i>ruralis</i>
- <i>Pyrgus ruralis</i>. And it's in our <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">fauna</span></acronym>. The Farmer is intolerant
of civilization. It is common to abundant in rocky foothill canyons. At
mid-elevation (Washington, Lang) it occurs in dry, rocky sites, often with
Goldencup Oak and Coyotemint. It does not venture above 5000'.</span></div>

California Buckeye flowers, and their flight period exactly matches its
blooming time. Males perch in sunflecks and vigorous chases are common. At
mid-elevation less common and often visiting Coyotemint and Yerba Santa.
Mid-elevation specimens are significantly larger than foothill and differ
subtly from them in color and pattern. One <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">brood</span></acronym> in late spring (late
April-early July at Gates; late May-July higher), barely if at all overlapping <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">sympatric</span></acronym> <i>O. sylvanoides</i>.
Hosts presumably native <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">perennial</span></acronym> grasses.</span></div>

genetic <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">species</span></acronym>. <i>Tecumseh</i> is the
"high Sierran" <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">subspecies</span></acronym>, occurring from the
vicinity of Bucks Lake south at mostly high altitudes and extending above
tree-line in the south. It is small and heavily marked both above and below,
but there is significant phenotypic and molecular variation among populations.
The population at Donner Pass is typical in being univoltine and emerging in
June-July (7000'). It can be quite abundant. There was formerly a bivoltine
population (June and September) on Bear Valley at Lang (a little under 5000').
It is now <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">extinct</span></acronym>; its loss seemed to
follow the removal of cattle grazing and the consequent change from low turf to
tall grass. There is still a bivoltine population at Sierra Valley (also
5000'). Very common at Donner; uncommon at Castle Peak; numbers vary enormously
at Sierra Valley from year to year. Males perch territorially on the ground, or
on protruding objects including dried cowpies. An avid visitor to pink
pussy-paws, dandelion, Aster and other low meadow flowers. Larval hosts
undetermined <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">perennial</span></acronym> grasses. The situation
at Sierra Valley is very confusing.</span></div>

californica</i>), unlike the widespread <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">nominate</span></acronym> one in eastern North
America (<i>E. c. clarus</i>), has only one <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">brood</span></acronym>, in late spring
(April-July), but scattered late records suggest at least the potential for
multivoltinism. The <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">larva</span></acronym>, which lives in a nest of
several leaflets tied together with silk, is very comical-looking with a large
purplish-brown head bearing two round orange "eyespots." It
accentuates the clownishness by hurling fecal pellets if disturbed. The native
host plants in our area are the large, coarse perennial Lotus crassifolius and
the uncommon riparian shrub Amorpha. It may also use perennial vetches of the <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">genus</span></acronym> Lathyrus. In the Gold
Country, however, it routinely breeds on Black Locust (<i>Robinia pseudacacia</i>),
which was often planted in Gold Rush days and has escaped in some places
(mainly along roadsides). This is the usual host of the Eastern U.S. subspecies
and it would seem it was preadapted to it. Right now a Neotropical ornamental,
Argentine Flame Pea (<i>Sesbania punicea</i>) has escaped from cultivation and
is becoming a serious riparian weed in the Sacramento Valley. When this
butterfly meets it, it may be another case of "love at first bite."</span></div>

the genitalia) occur at scattered locations on the Sierran west slope on <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">serpentine</span></acronym> substrates and fly in
autumn - mid-September into October. One of these occurs on serpentine along
Washington Road, where it is sandwiched between "normal" populations
of what is now called <i>H. colorado harpalus</i> but used to be called <i>H.comma
yosemite</i>, which fly in June-July both higher and lower but on <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">metasedimentary</span></acronym> substrates! The
seasonal displacement of these populations means they cannot exchange genes
with others and they are thus behaving as if they were a <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">species</span></acronym> in their own right. Both
sexes are, on average, darker on the <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">ventral</span></acronym> <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">hindwing</span></acronym> than nearby
early-summer ones. The only nectar source available to these insects is a dwarf
serpentine-<acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">endemic</span></acronym> <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">ecotype</span></acronym> of Rabbitbrush (<i>Chrysothamnus
nauseosus</i>). There are late-flying, very dark populations on serpentine in
far northern California (named as <acronym><span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; text-decoration: none;">subspecies</span></acronym> <i>mattoonorum</i>),
but it is not clear that they are related in any way to these. Molecularly, the
serpentine-autumn populations resemble the nearby summer ones, not the
autumn-flying entity found in the High North Coast Range.</span></div>
